Membership of the Board is made up of five Senior Cabinet Members representing the five Local Authorities (who do not hold the portfolio for Education), a Lead Chief Executive, a Lead Director, the Managing Director of the EAS, up to 4 Non-Executive members who will be appointed, with the approval of the Board, for their expertise in education, leadership and corporate governance, and a Welsh Government observer.
Board members will have responsibility for approving the budget (including remuneration), business planning and performance management of the regional consortium.
The Board will also provide an appropriate level of challenge to the EAS. This will include strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation and the leadership and management of the service.
