Available opportunity – Partner Challenge Adviser (Secondary)

January 20th 2020

The EAS is the school improvement service for Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Torfaen and Monmouthshire Local Authorities. Working with our key partners we aim to transform the educational outcomes and life chances for all learners across South East Wales.

As part of our work we engage Partner Challenge Advisers to support schools throughout the region. The role of a Partner Challenge Adviser is available to individuals currently employed in the role of Headteacher. The Partner Challenge Adviser role involves a Headteacher being released from their school for an agreed number of days in an academic year to provide appropriate challenge and support to an allocated school(s), in line with the National Model for Categorisation.  Reimbursement is at an agreed daily rate payable to the relevant school/ Local Authority on receipt of invoice. Due to the nature of the arrangement, appropriate permission is required from the relevant Governing Body/ Local Authority.

If you are currently employed as a Headteacher in a secondary school and are keen to explore the role of a Partner Challenge Adviser further, we would like to hear from you. To discuss the nature of the role and associated requirements in more detail, please contact Julie Wood, Assistant Director: Professional Learning (School Improvement) on 01443 863145.
